We designed our pillows using very specific materials that create unique characteristics or personalities. For example, because we have removed all the feathers that might poke you, you will sleep more “IN” our down pillows and “ON” our feather pillows. This 650 fill goose down pillow's "personality" is to sleep very soft, even in extra firm, very light and very quiet.

All of our sleep pillows come in four densities; soft, medium, firm and extra firm. But the fact remains, once we removed all the feather that can poke you, this pillow will be very light, very soft and very quiet.

Every Quality Rest® pillow uses the same 650 fill power goose down. A Soft pillow contains less down and sleeps lower, while Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm options contain progressively more down to create greater thickness and support. The best way to answer this question is actually to explain how we make the pillow a different density or thickness. Density; soft, medium, firm and extra firm is determined by how many ounces of down we fill the pillow with.

For example, our standard soft density 850 fill power goose down pillow has 14 ounces inside. The medium density pillow will have 16 ounces of down inside. The down inside the pillow is still very soft but now there is more of it making the pillow thicker so the pillows 'personality' of be very soft remains regardless of the amount of down used to make the pillow.

We always recommend you use a pillow protector, which has a zipper, and of course a pillow case. You should wash your pillow case and pillow protector with the rest of your laundry each weekend to prevent your pillow from going flat and from turning yellow. When washing is necessary, follow the care instructions included with your Quality Rest® pillow. The down must be completely dry before use to prevent clumping and preserve its natural loft. Regular fluffing and airing can also help keep your pillow fresh between cleanings.
