Feather Pillow Density
A soft pillow is ideal for stomach sleepers, and some back sleepers, providing both support for your head while you sleep but also helping maintain a comfortable spine angle while keeping your chin from pressing into your chest. The softer your bed the softer your pillow should be. If you sleep on a softer bed, perhaps a pillow top or have one of our made-to-order mattress toppers on your bed you will 'sink' or sleep lower in your bed typically requiring a soft pillow.
Great for side sleepers or a side sleeper that rolls to their back. When on your back do you sleep with more of the pillow down your back so that you have more support directly under your neck and spine? Medium density might be ideal. Our Classic 25% down 75% feather pillows sleep a little firmer than our all down pillows. Feather pillows have their own personality and are much heavier than an all down pillow. You will sleep more "On" this pillow than "In" this pillow.
Designed for side sleepers or those sleeping a firmer bedding surface. Remember the role of a pillow is to keep your spine angle level while you sleep on your side. That area between the crown of your shoulder and the side of your head we like to call your "Comfort Gap". Feathers are much heavier than down and our Classic 25% down 75% feather pillows are much heavier than our all down pillows. You will sleep more "On" this pillow than "In" this pillow.
Firm or Extra Firm? Things to consider are how soft or firm is your bed? How broad are those your shoulder? The more firm your bed the firmer your pillow should be. More broad shoulder means a larger "Comfort Gap" which may require an extra firm pillow. Feathers are much heavier and dense than down and our Classic 25% down 75% feather pillows are much heavier and sleep firmer than our all down pillows. You will sleep more "On" this pillow than "In" this pillow.
